We are experiencing unprecedented change with the spread of the coronavirus disease, COVID-19.
Griffith Base Hospital has set up a COVID-19 clinic at the nurses training school to test those who meet the strict criteria, taking the pressure off the already busy emergency department. If you are visiting the ED, we would like to encourage you to submit your feedback on the new kiosk located in the waiting room as you leave.
We are following the guidelines from NSW Health and remind everyone to continue to observe the following to help contain this virus:
- Stay home as much as possible
- Avoid crowds
- Keep a safe distance of 1.5 metres from others
- Follow good hand hygiene and wash your hands well
- Avoid being around the most vulnerable in our community.
The Local Health Advisory Committee has cancelled events we planned to host this year including the upcoming carer information session, the Memory Van visit, the dementia information sessions, and farmer health checks at the Riverina Field Days in May.
While we are disappointed to not be able to reach out to our community through these events, we know the health and safety of all is paramount.
We are hopeful that these events can be rescheduled for later in the year.
Our monthly LHAC meetings are on hold along with our planning and preparation for the year ahead.
We all remain focused and committed to ensuring that accurate and reliable information is being distributed to our community in a timely fashion as we live in these auncertain times.
