Exies Eagles and Hanwood will face off this weekend to see whose season will stay alive as the side meet in the GDCA first grade elimination final.
It would have been the second week in a row the two sides have played each other however last week's game was unable to go ahead due to heavy rain falling in the lead-up.
Exies captain Andy Arnold is happy with the form his side are carrying into the do-or-die clash.
"It has been a good run of us over a bit of a stop-start stage of the season," he said.
"We have won the last two games we have played so hopefully, we can continue that form."
The Exies side has played three games in the last seven weeks with a number of washouts as well as their bye and a heat affected round so are undefeated in the previous seven weeks of cricket.
Arnold knows his side will have to wary of the threat the Hanwood side poses.
"They have been a bit of a bogey team for us recently," he said.
"Hicko (Brendan Hicken) and Oli Bartter are the two you really have to watch out for. He (Bartter) has been in really good form lately.
"We also haven't played them since before Christmas, so we aren't too sure what to expect, but if we can get on top of them early I think we are in with a good chance."
Hanwood has taken the two meetings between the sides which haven't been affected by weather with their most recent meeting coming back on December 14 when Hanwood took a winning draw.
With the first-grade finals getting underway it means the competition turns to the two-day format, but Arnold doesn't think that will change their approach to the game too much.
"We have batted well all season apart from one or two games," he said.
"If you get in, there is plenty of time to put runs on the board, and if you encounter a good spell of bowling, you just have to ride it out.
"It's two days of cricket and something like 190 overs of cricket, so it's just a case of not panicking."
The action will get underway at Exies No 2 at 1.30pm on Saturday while day two will start at 10.30am on Sunday.
The winner of this game will take on the loser of the qualifying final.
