Leagues won the toss and elected to bat however lost the wicket of Matt Keenan in the first over when he was caught in slips off the bowling of Valeri (1/30).
The Panthers lost another one early with Ryan Greenaway (12) falling to Luke Peruzzi to have Leagues in a spot of trouble at 2/14 after 7.2 overs.
Andrew Madden and Reece Matheson were able to steady the innings for the Panthers with a 31-run stand before Damien Browning stuck just before drinks to remove Madden (16) to see Ben Leach join Matheson out in the middle.
Leach (11) was dismissed by Leon Vico to bring Daniel Bozic to the crease, and alongside Matheson, they were able to get the Panthers on track for a defendable total.
The fifth-wicket pairing got their side to 124 with a 50-run partnership before Matheson (49) was out just short of fifty, caught and bowled by Browning.
Bozic (41) kept the score ticking over before he was dismissed in the forties by Peruzzi (3/47). James Shelton (14) made a valuable contribution in the lower order to see the Panthers finish their innings on 179 off 43.3 overs.
Diggers were left with 41 overs to chase down the total or get ahead on run rate, and Ben Fattore and Peruzzi were able to get their side off to a good start before Fattore (18) fell to the bowling of Jackson Hasson (1/23) with the score on 38.
Tom Valeri (7) was bowled by Daniel Bozic (1/48) 12 runs late with Peruzzi and Theo Valeri able to get their side into a strong position at 3/71 after 19.5 overs when Ryan Greenaway dismissed Peruzzi (22).
Valeri and Dean Crack were able to get their side into a strong position with a 74-run partnership which was only broken by a one-handed screamer on the boundary by Matheson off the bowling of Liam Warren (1/46) which dismissed Valeri (65).
It made little difference and Dean (35*) and Matt Crack (12*) were able to get their side to a six-wicket win with 1.3 overs remaining.
Meanwhile the game between Hanwood and Exies Eagles was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Hanwood Oval after the rain event on Wednesday and Thursday saw the ground still to wet for play.
