Exies Diggers have secured the minor premiership in the GDCA second grade competition after a 40-run win over Hanwood at Hanwood Oval on Saturday.

The Diggers side won the toss and elected to bat with Mick Duncan leading the way with a fifty despite the rest of the top three in Brendan Wade (1) and Paresh Patil (0) not troubling the scorers.
Tom Harper (18) and Damien Browning (30) kept the score ticking over before the bowling of Jason Bertacco (5/28) helped to restrict the Diggers side to 121 before they were bowled out in the 30th over.
Three early wickets put Hanwood on the back foot with Browning (3/15) taking the wickets of Jordan Whitworth (3) and Neil Geltch (7) while Bertacco (2) was bowled by Daniel Dossetor (3/28).
Oliver Bartter (14), Luke Catanzariti (17) and Trevor Cowie (15) tried to give their side a chance however wickets at regular intervals made it difficult before the final wicket fell to see Hanwood bowled out for 81.
While they are now out of the race for top spot, the Coro Cougars were able to secure their second-place finish with a convincing win over Coleambally.
Jamie Bennett (55) led the way with a half-century while Matt Signor (19), Brett Crooks (10) Justin Moat (12) and Mark Burns (10) got starts at the top of the order.
Wickets to Jack Weymouth-Smith (3/33) and Avinash Gurram (2/9) helped to restrict the lower order getting runs as the Coro side reached the end of the 40 overs on 9/133.
Burns (2/22) and John Witherspoon (2/9) made the early breakthroughs to put Coleambally on the back foot.
Sanil Chilukuri (27) was the only Nomad batter to get a start with Andrew Potter (2/26) and Jamie Bennett (2/9) doing the damage in the lower order to see Coleambally bowled out for 81 and give Coro a 52-run win.
Leagues were able to pick up a bonus-point win over Exies Eagles to keep their faint hopes of making finals alive.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Leagues were able to make a strong start with Vilish Patel and Teao Woetai putting on 56 for the first wicket before two quick wickets to Jimmy Mann.
Dan McInnes (14) and Junior Makuare (23) scored the runs in the middle order before Pardeep Deol (31*) and Hamish Gunn (10*) added some late runs to see Leagues reach the end of their 40 overs on 6/156.
Hamish Gunn (2/17) picked up two wickets to put the pressure on Exies before Dan Brady (30) and Scott Campbell (35) led a fightback.
Shae Prudham (4/24) ripped through the Exies line-up while two wickets to Woetai (2/15) to see Exies bowled out for 102 to give Leagues a 54-run win.
