They will join me along with Karen Grillo Snaidero (vice chairwoman), Peter Sparks, Carla De Valentin, Lucinda Gidlow, and Saideh Barlow as the LHAC committee for 2020 and beyond.
I am confident Tracey and Michelle will bring new ideas, enthusiasm, and diversity to our monthly meetings and projects throughout the year.
We farewell Yvonne Turnell, a long-standing committee member who has been very passionate in advocating for this community.
We thank Yvonne for her many years of service and wish her all the best for the future.
Our first project this year is the Carer Support Session, to be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on March 24 at the Exies Club.
The session is especially for people in a caring role who look after other people with a serious illness.
Key guest speakers will provide information about the carer's role and accessing support.
LHAC will also launch the Griffith Supportive Care and Services Guide at the session.
Another important project is the 2020 MLHD Consumer Survey.
We hope to reach as many people as possible to measure consumer awareness levels about services offered, identify gaps in the provision of information, and confirm the best communication channels to inform, consult, and engage with communities.
We encourage people to complete this survey online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/2020CommunitySurvey or get a hard copy from the Griffith City Library.
For more information please contact LHAC Chairwoman Margaret King on 0409 815 901.
