A highly-anticipated and long-awaited build, the new kitchen was made a reality from fundraising efforts by the Festa committee over a number of years.
Not a one-man job, many parishioners came together to facilitate the build in the Father Gallagher Memorial Hall, and Father Andrew Grace thanked one and all for their help.
Special thanks was given to builder Angelo Barone and parish secretary-come-designer Anna Rosetto for their work which went 'above and beyond' their roles.
"If these walls could talk, it would speak of 99 years of amazing history," Fr Grace said.
"It is a great joy to see the fruition of years of work. It has been a real community effort."
Fr Grace was proud to note their use of local builders, tradesmen and products. Built and opened in 1921, the hall has met whatever needs the parish had during those years.
"This space is a hub of activity, and has undergone a lot of modification depending on the needs of the parish at the time," Fr Grace said.
A church, school, hall, the multipurpose centre is now complete with the modern kitchen.
As old and well-loved as it is, the build presented a few snags along the way, including bowed walls, uneven floors, but nothing the dedicated rebuild team couldn't handle.

"We make sure that we also have the needs of future generations in mind when we make changes."
With their centenary year fast approaching, Fr Grace outlined the financial committee had many projects on the agenda, which will be tackled as soon as providence allows.

These projects include building disabled toilet facilities, replacing the carpet in the church itself, as well as an exciting extension to the church as well.
"Our numbers in the parish keep increasing, and we can see the necessity for an expansion," he explained.
Excitement now builds for 100 year celebrations, with the date set for July 11, 2021.
