It was a day of two parts, as morning players only had to deal with light showers.
Only 44 players completed their rounds out of a field of 78.
The event was a single stroke sponsored by the Yenda-based Australian Beer Company.
Chris Fuchs, 73 nett, won the A Grade medal, firing 78 off the stick, ahead of second-placed Brett Polkinghorne, 74 nett.
Brendon Peters, 76 nett, was the best in B Grade with 91 nett on a countback from Steve Crowe, 76 nett. Mark Webb, 69 nett, had the day's best score and won C Grade, shooting 91, ahead of John Dalton, 73 nett and 95 off the stick.
Pro pins were won by Chris Fuchs and Jason Magoci. Par Threes: 7th John Harrison, 11th Brendon Peters, 16th Chris Fuchs. Vouchers to 77 nett.
The threat of a downpour did not deter the 124 players who turned out to contest a round of the VW Scramble on Sunday. Magically, the weather held off between 10am and 3pm.
Winners and going onto the next round were Damon Cafe, Robert Favero, Graeme Male and Shannon Windle, who combined to card 55 1/8 nett.
It was a game of fractions, with second-placed Ken Aylett, Peter Fell, Frank Mercuri and Gordon Smith carding 55 1/4 nett, In third were Craig Barrington, Mark Townsend, Andrew Scott and Anthony Kelly, 55 1/2nett. In fourth were Trevor, Chris and Graham Richards and Lance Poka, 57 1/8 nett.
Members are reminded that the Red Gum Plate calcutta will be held at 8pm this coming Thursday, February 13. Tickets from the bar.
The first matchplay round will be held on Sunday, February 16.

With the increasing number of junior members, the board requires members to become junior mentors to help them to progress. They are also seeking a member to become a junior promotions officer. Juniors from the age of 6-16 get free membership; contact the pro shop.

The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday, with 32 players in two divisions. Mick Catanzariti, 39 points, won Division 1 one ahead of Brad Fawcett, 38 points. The Division 2 winner was Bill Brown, 35 points, from Joe Cudmore, 32. Catanzariti won the 7th pin, John Gale 16th. Vouchers went to 32 points. This week's event is another single stableford.

A two-grade single stableford was played last Wednesday. Alf Franchi, 39 points, won 0-19 ahead of Jeff Wiscombe, 36 points. The 20-54 Grade won by John Wallace, 35 points, from Tom Wright, 33 points. Tony McBride won the 11th pin, Jason Magoci 8th. Vouchers to 33 points.
