The temperature peaked at 44.1 degrees celsius and in accordance with the GDCA by-laws the extreme weather rule was brought into effect meaning all games on Saturday were abandoned with the points being shared.
In first grade, Diggers were set to take on Leagues in the day game while Hanwood and Exies Eagles were set to battle it out under lights at Exies Oval.
The abandoned matches mean nothing changes position-wise from third down to fifth however with Coro having the bye the four points gained by Diggers see them close to within three points of top spot.
The competition will return to timed cricket next weekend and is set to be greeted with better weather conditions.
