Travis Payne won A Grade with a great score of 44 points, firing a par round of 71 off the stick and draining birdies on the 7th and 12th. Bryan Salvestro, 39 points, was runner up, draining a birdie on the 18th.
Len Carvill, 42 points, was best in B Grade, carding a birdie on the 9th in a 23-point front nine. Garry Hartnett, 39 points, was second, nailing a birdie on the second. The good scores continued into C Grade - Chris Gill, 40 points, was best with a steady 20 points on each nine. Steve Lightfoot, 39 points, was runner up with a four-point par on the 4th, carding 23 points home.
Pro pins went to Brett Polkinghorne and Jason Magoci. Par Threes: 4th Tony McBride, 7th Allan Andreazza, 11th Keith Woodbridge, 16th Jason Magoci. Magoci also eagled the first hole. Vouchers to 34 points.
Sunday's Australia Day event was a two-person ambrose. Bryan Trembath combined with Anthony Zamin to win, carding 59 nett. Trevor and Chris Richards, 60.5 nett, were runners up with Luke Congdon and Ryan Grieve, 62.5 nett, in third place. Travis Millis won the 7th pin, Chris Richards 11th. Vouchers to 65.25 nett.
One of the season's most keenly contested competitions, the Brady Painters Norm Saxvick Memorial Red Gum Plate qualifier, is on this coming Sunday.
It's a four-ball aggregate stableford with 32 pairs to qualify.
The usual calcutta will be held on Thursday, February 5 and qualifiers should not play their matches prior to this date.
Another date to keep in mind is February 9 when another round of the Volkswagen Scramble will be held, open to both men and ladies.
Today's event is a single stableford, with a monthly medal single stroke on Saturday. With a scorcher expected on Saturday, players can tee off from 6am - just notify the pro shop.

The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday with 31 players. Roy Calabria, 33 points, won 0-19 Grade ahead of David Woodside, 32 points. Ray Mead, 36 points, won 19-36 Grade on a countback over John F Gale, 36 points. David Woodside won the 4th pin, Tony McBride 15th. Vouchers to 31 points. Veterans are being advised that subs are now due, envelopes on the bar.
Thursday's event is a two-person ambrose and lady veterans are invited to play every Thursday.
Last Wednesday's pro comp was a single stroke in two grades.
Brendon Peters, 73 nett, won 0-18 ahead of Allan Andreazza, 74 nett, on a countback over Steve Matheson, 74 nett. Robin Salvestro, 69 nett, won 19-36 Grade; Cam Woodside, 71 nett, was second.
