Last week, McWilliams' directors called in administrators to help save the heritage brand which is among the nation's oldest family winemakers.
"We have met with growers in the region and have assured them that McWilliam's buying rates will be market competitive," he said.
"As is always the case in an administration process when making commercial arrangements - we will meet all financial commitments made by us."

While the administration process is still in the initial stages, KPMG's Gayle Dickerson said there had been "significant" interest in McWilliam's from the winemaking industry as well as domestic and international suitors.
"This is a positive reflection of the iconic Australian wine company and we will commence the formal sale or recapitalisation process shortly," Ms Dickerson said.
A creditors meeting is scheduled for January 20.
