Diggers have the bye this weekend, as Coro takes on the Eagles and Hanwood challenges Leagues.
President of GDCA, Brent Harrison, says he is excited to start the second-half of this thrilling season.
"It's a shame we had to cancel that last round before the break over the heat rule," Harrison said.
"But I'm sure the boys are all keen to get back into it."
Both matches ahead of the weekend are scheduled to be played at Exies Oval 1 and 2, with the main ground sporting brand new turf in 2020.
"We scheduled our rep game over to the other field at the request of the Exies club," Harrison explained.
"Hopefully now the pitch should look very good for the remainder of the season."
Hanwood and Leagues will carry the honour of opening for first grade on the new pitch, as they both try and improve their respective league positions.
"Leagues are sitting last at the moment, but they've been missing quite a few players in the first half of the year," Harrison said.
"If they can get a full team, it should be good, but they need to start making a move and try not to fall too far behind Exies in fourth spot."
The Eagles sitting fourth will be hoping to best on-form Coro, in an attempt to land themselves within the top two ahead of the final.
"Exies also need to start making a move, because Coro are going well sitting in second at the moment," Harrison explained.
"Both are good teams, but Coro are doing exceptionally well since the return of their captain Haydn Pascoe.
"I think he's been a real blessing for them, he's a class player and he's been getting runs alongside Theo Valeri there."
Exies and Coro will begin at 1pm, while Hanwood and Leagues is set for 4:30pm.
