Griffith police have issued stern warnings after four children were left alone in cars on Saturday.

Police were called to a Banna Avenue car park following reports two children had been left unattended in a car with the engine running at about 1pm on Saturday
They were aged two and nine years old.
Officer were also called to another case the same day at a supermarket car park at 3.25pm.
Again two children, aged four and 11, were left alone.
The car was turned off, with all the windows up.
Leaving your children alone in a car so you can grab a few things from the shops is not only dangerous, it is irresponsible.

Police attended and spoke to the parents and are continuing their investigations.
Both incidents have been reported to Family and Community Services.
Murrumbidgee Police District Inspector Kim Traynor said the four children were fortunate to have not been harmed.
"By leaving your child in a car you are placing them at great risk of dehydration and heat stroke, or even abduction," Inspector Traynor said.

"We are urging the community to be mindful, particularly as the weather heats up.
"Leaving your children alone in a car so you can grab a few things from the shops is not only dangerous, it is irresponsible."
