After winning the toss and electing to bat the Panthers were able to make the start they were searching for.
Ryan Greenaway and Ben Leach were able to lay the foundation for their side with an opening stand of 46 before Greenaway (16) was bowled by Lucas Conlan (1/13) while Leach (27) fell to the bowling of Crack (1/20) shortly after.
Andrew Madden and Reece Matheson were able to get their side back on track and got their team to 115 before Matheson (27) was trapped in front by Theo Valeri.
While wickets started to fall around him, Madden was able to keep the score ticking over as he closed in on a half-century.
Trevor Richards made an impact with the ball as he picked up the wickets of Matt Keenan (7), Teei Piawi (0) and Michael Cudmore (1) before making the crucial breakthrough with the dismissal of Madden (55).
Richards (7/30) was able to roll through the lower order with little worry as the Panthers were eventually bowled out for 166 in 43 overs.
Leagues were able to make a strong start with the early wicket of Ben Watts (4) who was caught off the bowling of Teei Piawi.
Luke Peruzzi and Richards got their side back on track with a 42-run stand before Paul Plummer took the wicket of Peruzzi (15) while Richards (32) was trapped in front by Piawi.
Theo and Tom Valeri had plenty of time to get their side into a match-winning position and look on track to do so before Tom (10) became Plummer's second victim.
Matt Crack joined his skipper out in the middle and looked to continue Diggers path to success, however, when he became Plummer's third victim, the momentum swung in favour of the Panthers.
Piawi was able to take the wickets of Conlan (0) and Rocky Perre (4) while Plummer claimed the vital wicket of Valeri (40) to see Diggers sitting on 8/131.
Ben Fattore (10) and Dean Villata (9) gave their side a chance however Piawi (6/66) brought their innings to a close to give the Panthers a six-run win.
