Shoppers can buy a $1 bauble at the Target checkout counter, with all money going towards the Uniting Church's food hampers which will be given to locals in need.
Uniting Church volunteer Margaret Haggarty has been distributing Christmas hampers for longer than she'd care to admit, and she said she didn't want anyone to go hungry this year.
"People sometimes ring the church and say they need a hand at Christmastime, other times we know of a family that's in trouble," Mrs Haggarty said. "We want to help those people out."

Baubles can be bought at the checkout and placed in the box next to the Target giving tree, but donations can also be made directly to the Griffith Uniting Church.
