Sent in to bat, Tasmania recovered from 3-16 and 5-96 to reach 9-251 on a challenging Bellerive Oval pitch, in a match which will determine the wooden spoon.
Batting at No.4 in just his second one-day cup outing, Wright held the innings together with some composed stroke play before he fell in the 48th over for 106 off 117 deliveries.
Wright, who was born on the NSW South Coast, struck four sixes and shared an invaluable partnership of 109 with James Faulkner (49 off 76 balls).
Left-armer Hayden Kerr had Faulkner caught behind in an impressive debut, returning 1-17 from eight overs.
Another NSW-raised player in Nathan Ellis was next best for Tasmania with a quickfire 25 not out down the order.
An inexperienced Blues' side allowed the Tigers to profit from at least four dropped catches plus a host of extras.
Fast bowler Liam Hatcher collected 3-46 in just his second match for the Blues having debuted three days ago against Victoria
