During the two-day retreat students were put into teams and were given a series of challenges to overcome, with each team member being assigned a different role in each task.
Year 5 student Cormac Skaliotis said his favourite task was the Lego Challenge, where he took on the role of Research Manager.
As the Research Manager Cormac had to work off a blueprint to help his team mates assemble the Lego model.
"Each role has a really important job," Cormac said.
Year 5 student Caedence Pattison said her favourite part was the cooking challenge, where she was the Communications Manager.
As the Communications Manager she had to take pictures, create a slideshow, and write about the problem and the solution the team came up with.
During the retreat they met with student leaders from Murrumbidgee Regional High School, including school captains Ellie Taipaleti and Lachlan Cirillo who gave an inspiring speech about the importance of developing leadership skills.
Mr Cirillo said he became school captain out of a desire to help his fellow classmates.
"I've always been a person who wants to help others," Mr Cirillo said.

The retreat was the brainchild of assistant principal Vincent Conlan, who wanted to give students more autonomy and responsibility.
"One of the best ways to increase well-being in a school is to give students more voice."
"Hopefully the kids will learn how to communicate better, how to resolve conflicts, how to make goals, reflect on what they're doing, and how to problem solve."
Mr Conland said the school would also be giving more responsibility to the Student Representative Council, who will be in charge of running school events.
