Yet Nathan Lawlor has proven he has what it takes to make the cut, recently named the winner of the Penny Chambers Young Employee award at a Foodwork's convention.
Honoured to even be nominated, the 20-year-old said he was "on the edge of his seat" with nerves as the awards were called out.
"The gala evening event was a pretty special event, seeing other people win awards as well," he said.
Nathan has been working at Rossies for about five years now, and is just about to complete his Certificate Four in retail management, seeing and hoping himself into a management position in the future.
"What I love is that I actually want to come to work - not many people can say that," he explained.
"I love everything - the job, the people, the customers."
His boss Ross Catanzariti said Nathan as "extremely worthy" of being recognised this way, and was excited to nominate him.

"He has just grasped responsibility, and has a great deal of passion for the business and individuals who work and shop here," Mr Catanzariti explained.
"It's great to know that we aren't the only ones who can see his great potential."
