With the forecast set for a massive downpour, Father Andrew Grace said they were praying for rain for the farmers, just after 3pm.
"The last few years we had the same forecast, but we were packing up, and just as the last thing was done it poured," he said.
"We definitely need the rain for our farmers, so we will pray and hope the Lord provides."
This year will be the last fete with Sandra Campbell as principal, who is retiring next year after over 40 years of educating our young minds, so the fete will have a poignant twist.
Old favourite activities will be returning, with the dunking machine in the lead for most anticipated.
The upcoming new co-principals Michael Morrell and Daniel Toohey will be proudly donning Bulldogs and Hawks football regalia respectively as they await the great plunge, alongside father Grace himself in his traditional Manly gear.
