Griffith's Soroptimist International (SI) organisation is inviting local women to appear in the video series, developed to raise awareness about eliminating violence against women.
The video series is being produced by SI Griffith in partnership with local videographer Ell Horton of Dolce Films. The aim of the series is to document how women feel about their personal safety and actions they take in their day-to-day life to feel safe.
Sonia Casanova, SI Griffith member and convenor of the committee behind the project, said the goal is to give women from all walks of life in our community the opportunity to have their voices heard "as they share with us the realities of how and why they don't always feel safe."
Men are part of the solution in creating a world where violence is eliminated and we encourage the women to bring along their sons, husbands, brothers, fathers, friends, and colleagues so they can be featured alongside them.

"We hope that by sharing their experiences through this video project, we will be doing our part to continue to not only raise awareness on this subject but help provide our community a better understanding of women's perspective on safety," she added.
SI Griffith president Louise Miller said the project will also benefit by having input from men in the community.
"Men are part of the solution in creating a world where violence is eliminated and we encourage the women to bring along their sons, husbands, brothers, fathers, friends, and colleagues so they can be featured alongside them," Ms Miller said.

"Hearing from the men will be important as we are all in this together and this will be an opportunity for us to be informed and gain insights.
The videos will be shared one per day during the 16 days of activism.
It is a global campaign that starts November 25, the 2019 International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and ends Tuesday 10 December, Human Rights Day.
