The 98th Griffith Show showcased the best of the area on Sunday, as large numbers gathered to experience a day of fun in the sun.
With temperature peaking at 36 degrees and wild winds whipping through the Griffith Showgrounds, many opted to take in the show's pavilion displays, with Davidge and McWilliam pavilions decorated with prize-winning works from fields like cookery and horticulture.
One such victor was Lydia Makepeace, whose display which was themed around Singapore's Gardens By The Bay claimed the Most Outstanding Exhibit award in the open horticulture division.
Ms Makepeace said it took three weeks to put her design together and it felt good to claim the accolade.
"I wanted to try and do something different," Ms Makepeace said.
"This is the only one [category entered]."
However, the day was not only a way to showcase the best crafts and produce from the area, with crowds attracted to the many rides and events on the showground fields.
One crowd-drawer was the motocross demonstrations from the Australian Ramp Designs riders, who wowed the crowd with a full bag of tricks on display.
Events kept the arena's grandstand busy throughout the day, with crowds also taking in a large animal rescue demonstration from the State Emergency Service and a demolition derby.
The quest to find Griffith's Showgirl for 2019 also came to an end on the day, with Bronte Koster succeeding Sarah Cudmore in the role despite tough competition from Rachel-Taylor Fraser and Jess Butler.
Ms Koster said she welcomes the responsibilities brought on by the position and looks forward to being a representative for the area.
"I'm all full of nerves but it's really exciting," Ms Koster said.
"I had the view that it was a bit of a beauty pageant and I am so glad that I was shown otherwise.
"I would love to be an ambassador for Griffith and to showcase the great things about Griffith.
"Things like our healthcare and our education."
