Jeffery was keen to take on the role, and Roosters president Steve Hogan said it was an easy decision to make.
"Ben was assistant coach last year but with Ryan (McGoldrick) deciding he just wanted to focus on playing he was keen to take the step forward," he said.
"With him being keen to sign on, you can't knock someone with his experience back.
"He is a great fit to take over from Ryan. He has plenty of experience coaching sides in country areas and has had a lot of success with those sides."
With the Roosters ending their 31-year wait to take a premiership after a 30-18 win over Waratahs in the first-grade decider, Hogan said they look to be sticking with a similar side to their premiership team.
"I think we have a good bunch of blokes at the moment," he said.
"Everyone is pretty keen to stay on, but we will just have to see what happens between now and the start of next season."
It wasn't just a strong season for the first-grade side, it was great for the club as a whole with three of their four teams making the grand final.
"It was great to see the under 18s make the grand final, but unfortunately they fell in golden point while the reserves and firsts took home premierships," he said.
"It is the first time that we have had three teams go into the grand final and for two of them to come away with the trophy was pleasing."
Hogan feels the work put in during their lean season in 2018 has helped to lift them into the position they are in now.
"It all comes from the effort that Ryan has put in over the last five or so seasons," he said.
"We had a few younger boys who played last season (2018) when we were really struggling, but we persevered with them.
"The likes of Jack Kelly and Tom Young gained experience from that season and were strong for us this year."
With talent coming through the under 18s, Hogan is hopeful that the Roosters will be able to maintain the momentum gained in 2019.
