The Gonski Institute-run "Parent and Community Engagement Learning" forum will run all day from 8.30am to 3.30pm at the Griffith High site's library.
It's the first event of its kind in Griffith, and will feature an impressive lineup of researchers, teachers, and other people-in-the-know in the education sector.
Teacher Nau Mahe will be one of the speakers on the day, and she'll be talking about some of the new initiatives her school will be running to get parents more involved.
"When the parental support is there, student engagement is increased and their achievement is higher," she said.
Mrs Mahe is the school's new Pacific Island Community Liaison Officer, and she's already made great strides in getting Islander parents involved in the school's cultural events.

The seminar will also feature talks from Gonski Institute director Adrian Piccoli, who will be talking about how the hectic 21st century schedule is putting added pressure on parents.
Schools Plus' Fair Education director Maura Manning will be talking about some of the funding opportunities for lower socioeconomic schools.
The event is organised by Gonski Institute's Lila Mularczyk OAM, who said parent engagement is especially important in regional and rural schools that need it the most.
"We're about collaboration, sharing expertise, and sharing experience," she said.
"It's always wonderful when there are parents and community working together in partnerships."
The day will feature panel discussions, interactive workshops, and information sessions about Murrumbidgee Regional High School's new programs.
Parents or community members interested in attending the event can register at the Griffith High site's front desk.
