It's a cause that hits close to heart for Flynn, who was diagnosed with leukemia at age four.
"I want to do the shave as I have experienced leukaemia and I have gone through some horrible things. Not only physical pain, but mentally too - it hurts," Flynn said.
"I want to give back to the Leukaemia Foundation, because they did so much for me."
Flynn went into remission at age six and is now the picture of good health - but others around him weren't so lucky.
While he was in the hospital he became close friends with another patient, who died after a long battle with cancer.
"We went through pretty much everything in the hospital together, and it was really sad when he passed away," Flynn said.
"I don't want that to happen as much, so I thought I'd put money into cancer research to stop it."
Teachers at Hanwood Public School have jumped on board with the cause, and they'll also be cutting their hair on Friday in solidarity with Flynn.
One of them is teacher Lucy Capstick, who will losing her long locks after being inspired by Flynn's story.
"I am doing this to support Flynn as the amazing little man he is and for the amazing survivor he is," Miss Capstick said.

Teacher Simone Amaro said she'd let Flynn dye her hair any colour he chooses, and he's decided on bright pink.
"Many people I know have passed away from cancer," Miss Amaro said.
"I have always wanted to do something to show my support, so this was a great opportunity to do so."
The school principal's husband Mark St Baker will be going completely smooth on the day, shaving both his head and his beard for the cause.
"This disease affects so many people and shaving my head and beard seems like a small effort, but one I can do to show my support for such a worthy cause," Mr Baker said.
The head shave will be held on September 20 at the Hanwood Public School hall at 2.30pm and is open to the community.
Flynn has already smashed his fundraising goal of $2000, and donations can be left at the school's front desk.
