With the long time between drinks for the Yoogali FC side, coach Ross Marando said his boys were pumped to be taking the field this weekend.
"For a lot of them if not all of them it will be their first grand final," he said.
"2014 was the last time we played in the decider, and we won that year. In that time we have lost three presidents and two managers so it will be a lot more than just playing for us, we will be playing for them as well."
Marando who played in the successful 2014 side is using that experience to ensure that his young players aren't overwhelmed by the experience.
"It's a special week and day so they should really enjoy the moment," he said.
"It's just about making sure they don't get overawed by the experience."
Marando also knows that they should be looking to make the most of playing on their home ground
"The old boys will be coming down to watch so there should be a good atmosphere," he said.
"We have no injuries and no suspensions so we will have a full-strength team and no excuses."
For Yoogali SC this will be a chance to win their fourth successive title having defeat Hanwood in the previous three grand finals.
Unlike YFC, Yoogali SC has a couple of injury clouds hanging over their side, but coach Luke Santolin said they would be given every chance to prove their fitness.
"Mitch (Bagiante) trained on Tuesday which is promising while there will be a late fitness test for Steve Crombie," he said.
"Andrew (Keady) looks like he will be the least likely to get up, but we will give him every chance."
Santolin knows they will be facing a very determined Yoogali FC side who will want to end their drought.
"Whether it is a grand final or just a normal game their is always a bit of spice in these matches," he said.
"Their motivating factor will be to end their grand final drought and will have the crowd right behind them.
"We want to continue our success and bring success to some of our new players who haven't experienced it."
While Santolin admitted an early goal would be great, he knows his side will need to be cautious.
"The early goal in the semi-final seemed to give Yoogali FC a bit more energy, and we fell away towards the end of the game," he said.
"It will be crucial that we play for the full 90 minutes because we didn't do that last time."
