This Sunday evening bender lead to a 23-year-old man to be arrested, charged, and slapped with a court attendance notice for drink-driving.
It is alleged the man was driving a white Toyota Camry along Blumer Avenue, overtaking cars while speeding up until the intersection of Probert Avenue, where he collided with a cement traffic island.
Undeterred, he drove to the intersection of Doolan Crescent where he drove straight through without stopping, and ran into a kerb and garden bed before finally coming to a stop on Ted Scobie Oval.
Witnesses and residents in the area came to assist the man, and found him uninjured.
Police came and tried to administer a breath test, where he failed to give a sufficient sample after three tries.
Arrested and taken back to the station, he gave a mid-range reading of 0.087.
His driving privileges were suspended and he will be facing court at a later date charged with mid-range drink-driving.
