The new service will begin operation on Wednesday September 18 from Sydney, with the first train from Griffith leaving on Thursday September 19.
The new service follows from consultation undertaken by the state government earlier in the year.
The Parliamentary Secretary for Regional Transport Stephen Bromhead said the service will ensure communities in the Riverina stay better connected to one another.
"We're making it easier for people living in the Riverina to visit family and friends, plan holidays and attend appointments in other towns," Mr Bromhead said.

The mid-week service will stop at the same stations the weekend service operates along, meaning travellers from Leeton, Narrandera and Coolamon will also benefit from the new service.
