Bryan Salvestro fired 79 off the stick to win A Grade with 68 nett, coming home in two over par 37. Luke DeValentin, 70 nett, was runner-up - nailing a birdie on the 6th to shoot 38 out, then draining another birdie on the 17th.
Alf Franchi, 67 nett and 82 off the stick, was best in B Grade, shooting 41 on each nine. Runner-up was Brendon Peters, 71 nett, 85 off the stick. Anthony Zamin, 72 nett, was the best in C Grade, shooting 93 with four pars on a countback over Don Hillam, 72 nett.
Sunday's event was another single stroke and the final round of the club championships with 56 players.
Gerry Cox, 69 nett, won A Grade, 78 off the stick, with Brett Angel, 70 nett, second. Alf Franchi continued his big weekend, taking out B Grade on 69 nett and carding an eagle 3 on the 9th, to go with birdies on the 11th and 15th. Steve Panazzolo, 69 nett, 92 scratch won C Grade.
The WRDGA Championships are at Hay this weekend, with 4BBB for men and women on Saturday and the stroke championships in each grade on Sunday.
The first round of the Handiskins was played last Saturday; the second round is on Saturday, September 7.
Junior clinics are on Sundays at 1pm, followed by 3, 6, 9 holes of golf.
Today's event is a single stableford; Saturday is single versus par and Sunday, medley stroke.
The veterans played a single stableford last Thursday, with 32 players. Dave Gandy, 36 points, won 0-18 Grade on a countback over Geoff Cotterill, 36. Graeme Gifford, 39 points, was best in 19-27 Grade from Wal Hood, 37. Helen Vowles, 39 points, won 28-36 Grade, with Mike Hedditch, 36, second on a countback from Bob Painting.
Veterans clinics are now at 3.15pm on Tuesdays.
Lady veterans are invited to play in Thursday's single stablefords.
A two-grade single stableford was played last Wednesday. Tony Catanzariti, 37 points, won the 0-18 Grade, carding birdies on the 6th, 7th and 9th.
