Four sites across Griffith will be set up on Friday as part of the Cancer Council's yearly campaign to help fund research into cancer treatment and detection.
Cancer Council spokeswoman Linda Hoey said community support is vital to help advance cancer research.
"Despite advances made in research and improving survival rates for many cancers, we know that 1 in 2 Australians will be diagnosed by the age of 85," Ms Hoey said.
"We need the support of our communities to help us raise money for life-saving cancer research.
"By donating on Daffodil Day, you're helping us get one step closer to a world without cancer."
More than $9500 was raised in Griffith during last year's appeal.

Mary Fuller, the organiser of this year's appeal in Griffith, said the support of cancer research is important for the community to get behind as it allows for everyone to receive the benefits of the advancements.
"If we didn't have this research, that benefit wouldn't be there," she said.
"Research benefits everybody."
This year's Daffodil Day appeal will see 30 volunteers contributing at the sites along with ten volunteers from Marian Catholic College who will be operating mobile sites around Griffith on the day.
The sites are located at Griffith Central and Griffin Plaza as well as outside Bunnings Warehouse and at the kiosk on the corner of Banna Avenue and Kooyoo Street.
The sites will be taking donations as well as selling fresh daffodils and merchandise including pins and pens.
The Cancer Council has organised the Daffodil Day appeal since 1986 and organisers from Griffith have been involved with the appeal since its inception.
Last year saw $18.7 million contributed by Cancer Council NSW towards cancer research across 72 projects.
