The festival is part of Griffith City Council's A Taste of Italy campaign, a three day celebration of the Italian culture and history in the area.
One of the organisers of the Italian festival Patrick Zirilli said the event aims to showcase the culture and heritage of a significant portion of the Griffith community.
"It's a big part of Griffith," he said.
"That's something we want to focus on and want to celebrate, the tradition and the culture.
"There hasn't been an event where its all been put on show all in the one place."
The all-age event will feature stalls from several local restaurants and wineries.
The Rotary Club of Griffith will also be in attendance, operating an Italian barbeque, with all proceeds from the barbeque going to Griffith Post School Options and Griffith Can Assist.
Local and out-of-town entertainment will be provided at the event, with a strong focus on providing attendants with traditional music from different regions of Italy.
Mr Zirilli said the event has been in preparation since the beginning of the year, with the organisers working very close with council to get the event to completion.
He said all that is left for the festival to do is to get people in through the gates.
"We are just hoping everyone comes and has a good time," he said.
