The two sides are level on 22 points heading into the clash so the winner will take third and secure the second chance when finals come around.
West Wyalong captain-coach Jake Goodwin isn't shying away from the importance of the clash with the Roosters.
"If we lose we will fall to fourth," he said.
"We want to be able to win our remaining games so that we can secure third place and the second chance."
Goodwin admitted that his side were their own worst enemies against the Waratahs in a 22-10 loss in the last round and will need to improve this weekend.
"We made too many mistakes and made wrong decisions at crucial times," he said.
"It's on us. If we can play well, I have no doubt that we can get the wins that we need.
"We just can't keep letting teams back into the game."
If there was one positive to take from the Waratahs game, it was the strength of their defence which has been consistent throughout the season.
The Mallee Men have conceded the least amount of points so far this season, and Goodwin feels the strength of their middle has helped them stay strong in defence.
"Lou Goodwin and Jeremy Wood have been standouts this season," he said.
"They have both really carried us long with Tim Dore with their strength in the middle of the pack."
The West Wyalong coach was also pleased to be able to name the same side as the one that took on Waratahs after getting through unscathed.
The Roosters are heading into the clash with form behind them and are unbeaten in their last five games after picking up a 66-6 win over Yenda last weekend. The battle for third place will kick off at around 3pm.
