The rice research and development proposal will increase the current levy from $3 per tonne to $6 per tonne.
The levy already includes a six cent levy for Plant Health Australia which will not change.
The federal Department of Agriculture will have the final say on whether the increase is approved.
Any objection must include arguments and evidence for the objection and which part of the prosposed levy increase ricegrowers are objecting to.
