The Net Set Goers were out early again, learning new skills to help them along the way to becoming our future little netball stars.
There has been some great improvement in the 8/9s teams, with our youngest competition players really starting to learn how to move around and position themselves on the court. The morning started with Let's Go Glamping Party Hire Shooting Stars and #Teamnato going goal for goal all game and ending in a 6 all draw. Next, Area Refrigeration All Stars and The Diamonds took to the court, although Area Refrigeration All Stars won convincingly, there were smiles all around as our new 8 Yr old team scored not once but three times.
In 10/11s, JMMAC Trenching, our 'Team of the Week', took the win over Keep it North, 10 goals to 6. Congratulations to Jayla Hosking who was named the player of the game. In the other 10/11s games South Grove Angels played a great game, shooting up a storm and proving too strong for Coro Firebirds and Benny Mahon Constructions also had a win, defeating Griffith Pet Resort.
In 12 Yrs, R & B Diggers continued their winning streak, defeating Hotshots and claiming their sixth win in a row. All Stars demonstrated some great game play as they took on CSP Bluebirds playing one player short. Some great intercepting by Alana Orake kept the ball out of CSP's shooting end and turned the game in All Stars favour, resulting in their second win..
MIA Coaches D Grade's first game of the day saw Midstate Gunns defeat Flavourtech Firebirds, 27 goals to 14. BEKO got off to a slow start but managed to pull their game together to secure a good win over Interpack Tigers. Xquisite Dolphins continue to hold on to first place with their convincing win over 3C Stars, but Bardney's narrow victory over Caesars has them sitting hot on their tails.
The Griffith Aboriginal Medical Centre C Grade saw two games having forfeits this week, which resulted in JBS Thunderbirds and The Force picking up some easy points. In the other two games all four teams racked up the goals, scoring a total of 148 points between them. Rep 13s picked up another win this week defeating Riverina Poultry Services, 44 goals to 37, whilst Here If You Need also joined the winning circle, defeating Rep 12s, 37 goals to 30.
The Owen Toyota B grade teams continued the shooting storm, with all four teams in this grade also scoring above 30 goals each. AES Rockets were this week's top scorers, shooting a huge 48 goals to win over SPS/Doms/Bowmans 31 goals. Deadlies also scored well, defeating EM Photography, 39 goals to 32.
The Athletes Foot A Grade games began with a close match up between Casellas and CRF Plumbing/Citrus Motel. Both teams played strong until the last whistle and it could have gone either way, but in the end CRF Plumbing/Citrus Motel came away with a 3 goal lead. The game between BMF and Swifts saw the scores going almost goal for goal up until three quarter time, when BMF took advantage of some good turnovers to take the lead, and end up winning, 27 goals to 16. There was another closely contested match playing out between DeBortoli Wines and Rep 14s. It was a very hard fought game, but in the end it was Rep 14s who came out on top, winning 25 goals to 24.
We would like to congratulate our Under 17s team who competed at State Championships on the June long weekend. The girls had a great carnival and ended up placing a very commendable sixth in Division 2. We are very proud of these wonderful ambassadors for Griffith
