Golf Club president Geoff Elliot welcomed all and handed the formalities for the night to MC and life member Allan King. Allan called all present to stand and observe a minute silence for all past members who had passed on.
He also spoke of former Western Riverina delegates Ian Sneddon (Jerilderie) and John Lugstin (Hay) as great supporters of the Goolgowi Golf Club.
Allan then gave a good all round report on the history of the club and how it was John Watkins, Eddie Douglass and Alec Robertson who instigated the reforming in 1969.
Allan spoke of the good times during 1970/80s when the golf also supported their own tennis and darts team in the local competition.
Other speakers were Jenny Fisher from Griffith who told a few hilarious old time stories, Jenny said she could go back more than 50 years.
Club president Geoff then called on Colleen Westrup, Robyn Brown, Jill Connelly, Wally McDermott and Ray Christoff to cut the cake.
At the conclusion of the golf day Club president Geoff Elliot and Captain Ray Christoff called on Barrie and Ian Robertson, sons of foundation members Alec "Bolac" Robertson to assist with the presentation.
Golf day results (2 person Ambrose mixed winners) Oky Doky the O'Callaghan's from Leeton, runner up Jamie and Sinaed (Gool), mens winners David Flood and Sam Taylor, runner up Queens Park (the Dalton's Hillston).
Long drive Karl Dalton (Hillston), ladies Noreen Blunden (Hillston), NTP ryan Vadanaga (Griffith), Noreen Blunden (Hillston). The raffle was won by Jill Connelly.
Sunday's results: winner Jamie Elliot, runner up Trent Christoff (9 holes Norm Brown, runner up Floyd Sutcliffe), NTP Garry Busch (Hay), long drive Wayne Dunbar (Hay).
Clubs represented were Hillston, Hay, Griffith, Coleambally, Leeton and Yenda.
Glen O'Callaghan (the course record of 68 in 1985) and his wife from Leeton were present as was former club secretary Mal and Gene Evans from Albury. A great weekend was had by all
