There was little to separate the two sides for most of the game before the Swans kicked away to pick up the 11.9 (75) to 8.6 (54) win.
The Swans kicked the first goal of the game, but the Rovers answered quickly before the Swans were able to kick two to head into the first break with an eight-point advantage.
Coolamon's Joseph Redfern was able to get the Rovers back to within two before Jacob Conlan restored the Swans lead before the Rovers kick three goals straight with Nicholas Pleming, Cooper McKelvie and Shannon Charlie hitting the scoreboard.
Sam Daniels was able to get a goal back for the Swans as they trailed at the halftime break by two points.
Goals were traded early in the third term before Isaiah Potts, Ben King and Charlie Cunial kicked three in the final five minutes of the term to see the Swans leading by 17 at the final break.
Jacob Conlan kicked his second of the game in the final term and was the only major scorer as the Swans came away with the 21-point win.
Swans coach Will Griggs praised the work rate of his players, especially after the halftime break.
"It was a bit of a tug of war in the first half. I put it on the boys at halftime saying it's not up to me to say so much it's up to them how they respond," he said.
"They (Coolamon) are a fantastic team and have some great players, and they are really starting to gel as a team.
"I said to the boys that if they wanted to win it they would have to put in their best efforts and I think we really showed that in the second half."
Griggs was quick to praise the performance of young Isaac Campbell who was given the task of looking after Coolamon dangerman Jake Barrett.
"Obviously he (Barrett) is an ex-AFL player and is a pretty handy footballer," he said.
"Isaac is only an 18-year-old kid and our vice-captain, and I thought he held himself pretty well today."
The Swans will now prepare themselves for their grudge match against Leeton-Whitton next weekend at Exies Oval.
