Round 2 of the Griffith Netball Association's winter competition was held last Saturday in some cool and windy conditions at Jubilee Oval.

The 10am timeslot saw a quite close match between Area Refrigeration All Stars and #Teamnato with #Teamnato only going down by 3 goals.
At 11am 8/9s new team The Diamonds showed some great enthusiasm and persistence to keep trying hard against the winning Let's Go Glamping Party Hire Shooting Stars. 10/11s Keep It North played a hard game against Elders Lightning who came away with a convincing win. Whilst Benny Moon Constructions also had a convincing win over Coro Firebirds. In 12yrs CSP Bluebirds proved too strong for ladybirds winning, 16 goals to 5.
The 12pm timeslot saw 10/11s All Stars continue to dominate on the court with another convincing win over South Grove Angels whilst Griffith Pet Resort had a tough game against the impressive skills of JMMAC Trenching. In the 12yrs Hotshots couldn't match it with the skills of the confident R & B Diggers team. The D grade match between BEKO and Caesars saw BEKO get their first win of the season boosting their confidence as they go into round three.
At 1.10pm D grade team Interpack Tigers went down to the more experienced Xquisite Dolphins, who displayed some very impressive game play. Other winners were Flavourtech Firebirds who defeated 3C Stars, 22 goals to 15 and Bardney Metal Fabrication who defeated Midstate Gunns, 25 goals to 19. In C grade JBS Thunderbirds had a win over The Force, 25 goals to 19.
The 2.20pm round saw a close game with Riverina Poultry Services going down to Vaccari's Bakery by only a 5 goal difference in the end. B grade Rep 13s played hard against the more experience SJR Industries team, never giving up the chase, but experience won in the end. In A grade DeBortoli Wines took on the young and enthusiastic Rep 14 and came away with their first win of the season scoring 21 goals to 16. The Swifts/BMF game was one to watch! The teams were very evenly matched with the score see-sawing all the way through, right until the very end. With countless intercepts and turnovers going both ways, it was Swifts who took the honours on the final bell, winning by 3 goals.
The 3.30 timeslot saw our youngest Representative team, the Rep 12s played a very tight game against 12R. The girls gave it their all right throughout the game and came away with a win for their first game in C grade. B grade Winners were Deadlies, defeating EM Photography 29 goals to 23 and AES Rockets who won on a forfeit. In A grade CRF plumbing proved too strong for Pinnacle HPC.
