Abby Favell was especially chosen for her stellar performance with the Murray Bushrangers, where she has been putting her high stamina and explosive sprinting speed to good use.
The judges based their decision off her in-game stats, and the numbers clearly spoke for themselves.
She'll be joining the cream of the crop from the two states when the players meet for their first training session over the weekend.
Her old team coach Tim Madden will be sad to see the back of her; he told The Border Mail she'd been a star player during her last game with the Murray Bushrangers on May 4.
"She played an absolute blinder," Madden said.
"It's one of the best individual games I've seen."
The 16-year-old attributes her success on the field to her parents, who have been cheering her on every step of the way.
"They've helped me so much, and they've always supported and encouraged me."
"They've been really great."
Her parents have supported her endless list of sporting activities, which includes everything from netball to cross country running.
She's been doing cross country running "since forever", which has helped build up her stamina for those long drawn-out AFL games.
She said it was all made possible by her sponsors John and Kylie Pastro from Pastro Custom Ag, who help fund her country-wide trips.
Her next one will be this weekend in Coffs Harbour, where she will begin her new, brutal training regime at a state camp alongside her new team.
She won't be the only girl representing the area; Chelsea Hargreaves from the Murray Bushrangers also be stepping onto the field to represent Albury.
While over there they will put their skills to the tests against the Brisbane Lions and the Gold Coast Suns.
It'll be the first time the NSW/ACT team get together for their first matches, but things will really heat up on May 31 when they face off against the Tasmania team in round 1.
Round 2 will take place two days later on June 2, when the two teams bumps heads yet again at the Sydney BISP Oval.
