Proudly raising funds for community projects, Rainbow on the Plains is a festival of fun, support, inclusion and celebration of local and visiting lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex communities, their friends and families. Friday will have the VIP launch party, held at the Bishop's Lodge Historic House. Saturday at 1pm Street Parade, followed by a family oriented Fair Day on the grounds of the pool, where country singer Kylie Adams Collier will perform live, and the winners of the local shop window display will be announced. From 6pm the Heaven on Earth party will swing open with many performances. On Sunday, local retailers and eateries along Lachlan St will throw open their doors to accommodate the visitors.
Women in Rotary: Be the inspiration
Hundreds of Rotarians from across southern and central NSW will descend upon Griffith as the city plays host to the District 9700 conference from March 29 to 31.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Griffith with the assistance of Griffith Avanti, Griffith East and the Rotary Club of Yenda this years annual conference will be a wonderful opportunity to hear some of the best presenters to come to Griffith in recent times. There will be many events across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting with the Polio Parade finish, including welcome home for touring iron lung "Maggie". The official opening on Friday will include speakers Stephanie Woollard OAM (Seven Women) and Patricia Garcia AO (United Nations) at Griffith Regional Theatre at 6.30pm
Monasticism
Parish Lenten Reflection Day on March 30 at 11 - 27 Warrambool Street Griffith
Event will start at 7.30 with the Parish rosary, followed by mass and the morning prayer. A talk on Monasticism will be held at 9.10am, followed with prayer throughout the day. There will be a morning tea and question session at 10.30, with the Lectio Divina, praying the scripture at 11.15am. There will be a BYO lunch held at 12 noon. Seniors Saturday Movie
Saturday, March 30 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Griffith City Library
Griffith City Library will be having a senior's movie session. The lives of four lifelong friends are turned upside down after reading the infamous '50 Shades of Grey,' catapulting them into a series of outrageous life choices. Starring Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen.
