Work and other commitments meant that some of the first graders were unable to make the trip to Darlington Point for the annual knockout. Despite this coach, Sterling Ross feels his side will be in a good position.
"We have a few out because of work commitments," he said.
"We also have a few of the Hilston boys missing because they have an AFL trial game on Saturday as well so it will be a pretty young side heading across."
The Sharks have had a couple of preseason hit outs after making the trip to West Wyalong for the knockouts where they fell in the first round to South City before having a 'good' hit out against Condobolin last weekend.
With the season approaching quickly Ross is happy with how his side is coming together.
"We have had a few local boys come back which has helped to boost numbers," he said.
"We also have a signing from New Zealand and a couple for Sydney as well. Hopefully, their clearances come through and this will be their first game."
The goal for Ross this weekend is to get the side functioning as a unit heading into round one next weekend.
"Just trying a few combinations in the halves and just fitting in the new guys to see how it all comes together."
The Sharks will play in the fourth game of the day when they take on Yanco-Wamoon at 12pm at Darlington Point Sportsground.
