The Writing For Well Being Workshop will kick off at Griffith City Library next month and aims to teach residents the value of keeping their own journal.
The workshop is being run by author and former journalist for Wagga's Daily Advertiser and Lismore's The Northern Star Stephanie Dale.
"I have been doing this around rural and regional NSW for five years now and I am really surprised to find that almost everyone wants to write something," Ms Dale said.
“Even in the most isolated one word shed you will find people who will be willing to drive two hours for a writing workshop.
"Everybody is entitled to write and entitled to rest, when people become stressed it's as if they can't even bear to rest because they are too stressed writing gives (people) the ability to rest whilst doing something productive," Ms Dale said.

According to Mrs Dale it's the ability of writing to help people clarify and expel their inner thoughts which she thinks gives the written word its therapeutic qualities.
"It encourages us to clarify situations and helps us navigate big challenges and put issues to bed mentally, it gives us a way of downloading stress and getting it out of our physical body," Ms Dale said.
"Handwriting opens up a channel between the heart and the mind in a way a computer never will.
"Ideally (attendees) will take up journaling as a regular part of their day just like they have a cup of team in the morning I hope they will sit with the sunset and download the day."
The workshop will run from 10.30am to 12pm on March 20.
Aside from the workshop at the Library, Ms Dale will also be holding a limited sized Song of the Soul Workshop for residents interested in writing a book.
The Song of the Soul workshop will run from 1pm to 2.30pm on March 20 and costs $55 with only seven places available.
