The two sides have been the form teams of the competition for the duration of the season with the two sides sitting at the top since round three with Diggers having leapfrogged Exies into top spot with a strong run either side of Christmas.
Diggers captain Theo Valeri said there was a simple reason his side has been able to have a successful run over the middle stage of the season which has seen his team unbeaten in the last seven games heading into this weekend.
"It just comes down to blokes knowing and performing their role," he said.
"Our bowling stocks have been really strong this season as well. If one bowler isn't performing, I can make the change and have confidence that the next bowler will be able to get the job done."
Valeri was also happy to report that his side will be heading into the clash with a clean bill of health.
"We will be at full strength which is a bonus heading in," he said.
"It is always a good game when we come up against Exies, and we always looked at them as the benchmark for the competition.
"If we play to our potential, we have the ability to beat any team, and hopefully we can keep this form going as we head into finals.
"You don't win premierships this early in the season."
Valeri admitted Exies have a lot of match winners at their disposal, but there were a couple who really stood out.
"You always have to be on the lookout for Tom Spry and Jamie Winkler," he said.
In the three meetings between the two sides, Exies hold a two wins to one advantage over Diggers having won the first two encounters.
