What do you do for a living?
I have worked for Woolworth for 16 and a half years. I am also an Airbnb host.
How long have you lived in Griffith?
I have lived in the area for 20 years, with 19 of those spent in Yenda
What is the best part of living in Griffith?
Griffith is a cosmopolitan, multi-cultural area, with a wide variety of social and sporting activities available. Griffith also has a strong economy from its diversity with low unemployment.
Why are you running for Griffith City Council?
Like all of the residents who went through the 2012 floods, I feel that the community needs to be kept up to date on the East Mirrool Regulator (EMR) and it’s maintenance.
I also would like to promote better services for Yenda and the villages of Griffith, to make all residents enjoy the lifestyle.
How do you assess the performance of the current council?
Griffith City Council has done some things well whilst there are areas for improvement.
If elected, what would you lobby for?
I have many issues, I think initially it would be for the EMR, local playgrounds, cemeteries, water issues and better footpaths for the elderly, disabled and pram users.
What are the main issues you see in the Griffith GA?
I think the main issues are water, the need for MDBA to have a fair policy.
The algae problem in Lake Wyangan. I also see there are issues such as the general work on villages and towns with footpaths, parks and access to services.
What are the best ways council can help businesses prosper in the city?
Providing better services and more incentives to business whilst consulting with the business community regularly.
Are there any major projects you would champion if elected?
I would like to see Yenda and Bagtown cemeteries brought up to the high standards of the Griffith’s main cemetery. A splash pad in Yenda Memorial Park to prevent kids swimming in channels is also another priority.
