The Farrer and Indi hopefuls met for the first time on Thursday in Albury-Wodonga and have pledged to work together during the campaign.
“Traditionally we haven’t seen that communication between Albury and Wodonga candidates before,” Mr Kerr said.
“They should be working together, not just to show up when one is announced to do their face-value duty. This is about a long-term partnership going forward.”

Mr Drabsch said they could show a united front on issues such as funding for early childhood education, and trades and training.
“At a federal level, we can work as a team to ensure the next generation has access to the best possible jobs,” he said.
“Me and Eric are here to say we are a united voice, we are a united team and unlike the Coalition, that has spent the last five years fighting and knifing each other, we have actually been working together.”
They said a federal Regional City Deal, which is expected to be announced in the future, “should have been done a long time ago”.
