One of them is resident Roslyn Penrith, who has been sweating it out for nearly ten years.
As the mercury climbs towards the 40 degree mark her asthma causes her to gasp for air, making sleep a near impossibility.
It’s a serious health concern according to former nurse Roslyn Penrith, who is worried about the wellbeing of the elderly residents.
“When you’re over the age of 60 your thermoregulatory system slows down,” Ms Penrith said.
“As you get older your body struggles to cool down – I don’t know how they cope.”
She will be one of the people pressuring the government for air conditioning during the upcoming by-election.
