The encouragement comes as play equipment and sports ovals at Hay Memorial High School and Yoogali Public School are to be opened to the public over the Christmas holidays.
The opening of the school’s outdoor facilities to the general public comes following their participation in the NSW Government’s Share Our Space Program.
The program hopes that by making more sports and play infrastructure available in communities such as Hay and Yoogali children and adults will be encourage to engage in more activity over the holidays.
By participating in the program the two schools will receive a $5,000 grant for opening their facilities to the public.
As of December 22 play equipment, ovals and sports courts at Yoogali Public School and Hay Memorial High School will be free for public use from 8am to 6pm everyday until January 22.
