The Griffith side has been in possession of the cup for over a year now and in that time have held off seven challenge with Leeton being the most common opponent for the side. It was Leeton who were able to take the Cup off them early last season however it was short lived as a week later the cup returned to Griffith and since November 26, 2018, has been in their possession.
Griffith will go into their second defence of the season with a mostly unchanged lineup with Dean Villata being called up after taking 12 wickets in the last two weeks as he finds his stride with the ball as part of a strong bowling attack which also features Charlie Cunial who has been damaging in recent weeks.
Leeton is heading across with a youthful side which will be skippered by Matt Dedini who steps in for the absent Nathan Carn.
