Diggers won the toss and elected to bat and would have been hoping their side would be able to make a strong start through Ben Watts and Scott Smith.
The opening pair got the score to 12 before Smith (4), and Watts (18) fell to the bowling of Marc Tucker (2/35) while Andrew Arnold (1/18) picked up the wicket Dom Brown (3) as the Diggers lost three wickets in three overs to fall to 3/25.
Diggers captain Theo Valeri and Trevor Richards looked to attempt to rebuild the innings, and the pair had time on their side to push their side towards a competitive total.
With the score on 49, Richards (9) and Valeri (15) fell to the bowling of Connor Bock in quick succession meaning their side were on the back foot again sitting at 5/50 after 7.4 overs.
Tom Valeri was the only Diggers batsmen to cause any damage on the scoreboard as he put on 14 runs with Matt Peruzzi (10) before he became Bock’s (3/23) but that did little to slow Valeri’s progress.
Luke Peruzzi replaced he brother and alongside Valeri were able to push Diggers past three figures before Tom Spry struck to remove Valeri (36) which all but ended the Diggers resistance.
Joel Mulder (2/5) took two quick wickets to remove Corey O’Reilly (3) and Danny Dossiter (0) while Spry (2/12) took the final wicket of Peruzzi (13) to see Diggers bowled out for 126 in 25.2 overs.
Exies chase got off to a shaky start with Mulder falling to the first ball of the innings as he was caught by Trevor Richards off the bowling of Theo Valeri.
While Exies were able to score quickly however lost two wickets in quick succession as Duane Ashcroft (11) fell to the bowling of Ben Watts while Jamie Winkler followed an over later as he was bowled by Valeri (2/13).
Tom Spry and Marc Tucker were tasked with getting their side back on track and with a 33-run partnership were able to get their side past 50 before Tucker (4) fell to the bowling of Matt Peruzzi.
Spry looked to be in the mood to guide his side to the victory and just needed batsmen to hang around with him.
Watts (3/69) picked up the wickets of Craig Burge (2) and Cooper Smith (2) while Peruzzi (2/28) picked up the wicket of Jack Weymouth-Smith (6) to see Exies sitting on 7-104 after 18 overs.
Needing 22 runs to secure victory Spry (75*) and Arnold (13*) wasted little time getting across the line to give their side a three-wicket win with plenty of time remaining in the match.
The win sees Exies extend their already substantial lead at the top of the table and will look to keep up their winning ways when they take on Hanwood while Diggers will look to bounce back when they take on Leagues.
