Two road ambulances were called to the town, about 70 kilometres south of Griffith, on Sunday just after 2.20pm after a 54-year-old woman fell about 1.5 to 2 metres from a ladder onto concrete.
As of 4pm on Sunday, ambulance crews called in a helicopter from Wollongong with the aim of conveying the woman to Griffith Airport due to the nature of her injuries and the distance by road.
An Ambulance Service of NSW spokesperson was unable to confirm on Sunday afternoon if Griffith Base Hospital would be the woman’s ultimate destination.
“(The patient) had a potential traumatic injury to her chest along the left ribs,” the spokesperson said.
“She was complaining of lower back pain, pelvic pain, felt nausea and was unable to bear weight.”
The helicopter was still en-route to the scene as of 4pm on Sunday.
