Yenda were able to take out the first piece of silverware on offer at Solar Mad Stadium on Sunday afternoon with a 30-20 win over Yanco-Wamoon.
The Blueheelers were able to make a flying start to the decider as Connah Teapa, and Noah Schmetzer scored in the opening 10 minutes to see the Yenda side race out to a 10-nil lead.
It would be another two in quick succession as Jack Little and Brodon Castle continued to put points on the scoreboard for the Blueheelers as the game threatened to become very one-sided. Seth Carter was able to get one on the board for the Hawks just before halftime, but the Blueheelers still had a decent lead at the break.
While Yenda scored first in the second half through Jayden Smith, Yanco-Wamoon were able to fight their way back into the game. Max Findlay, Daniel Trembath and Josh Elworthy scored for the Hawks as they closed to within four points heading into the final four minutes.
A try a the death for Kyle Darrington saw Yenda able to wrap up the game with a 10-point win.
