A 45-year-old man sustained severe lacerations to his legs after a drive pulley on a gearbox failed.
It ejected a part that struck him in the legs.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Murphy Road on Saturday morning.
NSW Ambulance said they believed the lacerations were “consistent with a workplace injury”.
The man was assessed and treated at the scene of the incident before being transported to Griffith Base Hospital where he was reported to be in a stable condition.
It is believed he remained in hospital overnight before being released on Sunday morning.
SafeWork NSW’s investigation is ongoing.
