The Hay Magpies really turned it on for Rachael Pearson’s 100th game for the club, and Pearson clearly didn’t want to miss out on any of the action.
Pearson finished with a total of 38 points with four tries and 11 conversions while Luci Lugsdin also made an impact on the scoresheet with a hat-trick of tries as well as two tries each to Samantha and Shardia Hutchison.
They say attack is the best form of defence and this proved to be the case as they Magpies walked away with a 76-6 win.
The Black and Whites were able to stay in the hunt the top spot after picking up a 46-4 win over TLU out at Goolgowi.
A try each to Lily-Belle Misiloi, Ashleigh Harris, April Townsend and Mata Varasia saw the Panthers holding a 22-0 lead at the break.
They build from there as a second-half double to Varasia saw her complete her hat-trick while two tries to Bianca Sutton and one to Hollie Penrith saw the Black and Whites come away with the 42-point win with Tennielle Kenningale scoring the only points for the Sharks.
In the remaining games, Leeton was able to take an important 34-0 win over DPC which sees them build a five-point gap back to sixth while Yanco Wamoon stayed within touching distance of the top three with a 34-4 win over West Wyalong.
With a win being all that separates Yanco Wamoon and Hay their game at the Hay Sportsground this weekend shapes up as an important one for both sides.
